Co-operative principles and values

Our staff and the work that they do reflect the following co-operative values and principles.

Principles:

The co-operative principles are guidelines by which co-operatives put their values into practice. These are principles held by all co-operatives in all countries in the world. They include:

  • Voluntary and open membership
  • Democratic member control
  • Member economic participation
  • Authority and independence
  • Education
  • Training and information
  • Co-operation among co-operatives
  • Concern for the community.
